East Hartford, CT — East Point Systems makers of Field-Comm, an electronic management system providing processing, tracking, and seamless communications for the mortgage and asset management community across the US, has relocated to East Hartford.
The company's software processes mortgage service information, (such as work orders, field reports, and photos) for lenders, property preservation and inspection companies, and others in the mortgage service business nationally. Most of East Point’s users are people cleaning, mowing lawns, maintaining, and inspecting properties after foreclosure. First introduced in 1996, Field-Comm has grown with the industry evolving into a sophisticated system providing processing for all levels of the mortgage service business.
How it works: A mortgage holder (lender or HUD) issues orders and Field-Comm automatically routes these orders to the contractors and sub contractors or a property inspector in the field. Once the contractor or inspector completes the job, he electronically returns the completed field reports with attached photos to the mortgage holder. All the while, the software maintains schedules, flags problems and tracks payables and receivables.
Using Field-Comm, hundreds of thousands of orders are seamlessly processed and tracked each day. Without it, it would take days just to process an order and accurate tracking would be impossible.
“Typically, job completion is required within 24 – 48 hours. Without East Point Systems software, the order cycle would be a nightmare” said Tom Margarido, President. “Not too long ago, the orders were delivered by overnight delivery, email or FAX. They were emailed, printed, manually filled out and processed. The order process would frequently grind to a halt, job tracking consumed hundreds of hours and quality control was impossible. If Field-Comm didn’t exist, with the number of existing foreclosed properties today, tens of thousands of homes would deteriorate to total losses affecting neighborhood property values. Additionally, order processing would be outrageously expensive. Since many of these houses are guaranteed by HUD, Field-Comm saves billions of taxpayer dollars.”
East Point Systems is growing rapidly. Formerly a company of six, East Point now employs eighteen. It out grew its previous space and recently relocated to 290 Roberts St. in East Hartford. East Point chose the East Hartford location with an eye on expansion and its easy access to highways. The company plans to expand Field-Comm into additional industries, bringing more jobs to East Hartford.
