PRLog - March 22, 2010 - CENTRAL, Singapore -- Singapore - Justin Harris (Freaks) and Nigel Casey (House of 909), collectively known and DJs North & South along with a Singaporean based partner today announced the set up of the Asian Music Exchange (AME).
Asian Music Exchange
AME is a new international DJ and Music Artist booking agency in Asia. AME will facilitate the bookings for both DJ’s and internationally renowned artists in the Asian time zone and reflect the vibrancy of Asian markets but will also bring new blood from Asia back to the West to show the home grown talents. The Asian Music Exchange will provide a platform for quality artists to spring board their talents into the Asia market. AME will fulfill this need for a global booking agency in Asia.
Nigel Casey of AME said “This is a truly eventful day for the Music Industry. DJ’s, Promoters and venues are very excited by the thought of an agency run by DJ’s for DJ’s. The Asian Music exchange will add to the stature of Asia as developing area of the music scene and more DJ’s and musical talent will flow into Asia, as it becomes a Dance Music Destination, very much like Ibiza has been in the past.
Justin Harris “The Group’s musical interest is to establish AME in Asia. The close proximity to the region’s largest developing musical scene, positions the vast Asian continent as a key hub for the industry. Singapore ranks among the top three international club scenes in the world today along with New York and London with an already established Club Scene, diverse cultures, a thriving tourism, business friendly environment, and its geographical location – making it an ideal destination to host the start of this new venture”.
AME has been getting widespread support from the DJ fraternity worldwide gaining support from the likes of Rob Mello (Classic recordings),Robert Owens(I'll Be Your Friend), Honey Dijon (Chicago, New York), Doc Martin ,Marshall Jefferson....Well the list goes on.
DJ Mr C said, “I am very pleased to be associated with this path breaking initiative of the Asian Music Exchange. I expect Asia to lead the growth in the dance music business in the next few years. DJ’s from around the world will benefit from having a group like AME who we know will work in our best interests. AME will be a barometer for the dynamic demand-supply of DJ’s in this region and I am looking forward to joining them on this journey.”
AME are also commited to showcasing some of the astounding musical talent already entertaining a following in the region. There are also a healthy number of South East Asian DJ's/Artists on our books who more than earn their place on the roster. AME will also be representing much this talent for bookings and gigs in the west.
