Milton Keynes has a healthy voice with BrowseAloud…

March 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust has announced its adoption of BrowseAloud, the leading website speech-enabling solution from Texthelp Systems Ltd.

Website visitors who may have literacy difficulties, dyslexia, mild visual impairments, or for those who speak English as a second language, will now be able to access the online services with greater ease and confidence for free.

BrowseAloud is a text-to-speech solution that reads all accessible website content aloud in a high quality human sounding voice which can be altered to suit the individual’s specific needs. As the online content is read aloud, words are highlighted; a useful tool which aids literacy and comprehension.

A new version of BrowseAloud has recently been released; users can now access all the BrowseAloud features with a floating toolbar which includes a talking dictionary, the ability to convert online text to MP3 and a screen masking facility which benefits those with certain visual impairments and learning difficulties.

Other new features include a Translation tool which allows for single word translations into English, French, Spanish, German or Italian.

BrowseAloud customers who have recently come on board include Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, Luton PCT and NHS Diabetes.
