March 22, 2010 - PRLog -- On Sunday April 25, 2010, young ladies from across the Washington Metropolitan area will compete for an opportunity of a lifetime to represent their state at the national Miss Teen United States-World and Jr. Miss United States-World pageants. One of the newest pageant systems in the nation for girls ages 9 to 18, the Miss Teen-World Organization celebrates today’s youth and embraces contestants of all heights, races, and nationalities. The local pageant for the Teen Maryland & District of Columbia titles will be held next month in Washington, DC.  Contestants compete in four areas of competition: evening gown, swimsuit (Teen Division only), casual wear (Jr. Miss Division only), interview, and beauty. Junior Miss titles will also be awarded for Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia. All title-holders advance to the national pageant in Houston this June.  

The event will be held from 5:30pm -7:30pm at Ibiza, 1222 First Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002. Miss Teen Maryland-World & Miss Teen District of Columbia-World is still accepting representatives for the Jr. Miss & Teen programs.To enter, girls must be between the ages of 9 and 18. They or their parents must live, work, or attend school in Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia. Parental property ownership is acceptable as well. Prior pageant or modeling experience is not required and there is no talent portion to the competition.

“Miss Teen-World Organization is one of the few pageant systems that aren’t looking for the typical “pageant contestant”. We are really seeking for youn lady with that has that  'IT' factor of genuine beauty, style, and charm” says Director Kelly Ann Clay. Maryland & District of Columbia State Co-Directors, Kyle Ean Haggerty and Kelly Ann Clay, bring over 30 years of combined pageant experience to the organization.  

Over $15,000 in prizes will be award to the winners, including a competition wardrobe to compete at the national pageant, a scholarship to John Robert Powers Modeling School, a photo-shoot, fitness training, cosmetics, a dress from Project Runway Designer Jonathan Kayne, and much more!
