"It will encompass about 2000 miles of driving," says Gerard, who visit middle schools as far up Highway 101 as Fortuna Middle in Fortuna, California, in Humboldt County. "That's less than an hour from the Oregon border."
The schools have been prompted, given all of the appropriate promotion materials, and the students are waiting impatiently for Mr. Gerard's arrival. "I've heard from every school librarian," says Gerard. "They all tell me the same thing, that their students can't wait to meet me and see my author talk."
Schools in the cities of Paso Robles, Cambria, Pleasant Hill, Fortuna, Auburn, Sacramento, and Valencia will enjoy a visit from Mr. Gerard. He will discuss writing, show an amazing movie trailer about Conor and the Crossworlds, and answer questions from the students.
