1LegCall’s 3rd and 4th Quarter results demonstrate the strong demand for Mobile VoIP technologies in emerging markets and Third World countries according to COO Eric Scheele.
“Mobile technology has been a strong choice in emerging markets, because it bypassed the need for expensive fixed-line infrastructure. The maturing of these markets and the advent of affordable unlimited 3G data packages fits perfectly into our road map,” states Scheele.
1LegCall is a mobile app that uses existing mobile handsets to deliver an inexpensive call solution using VoIP technology. “We do not require our customers to change carriers or buy expensive new phones. They simply load the dialer app onto their existing phone using their existing 3G or WIFI connections,”
Launched in January of 2009, 1LegCall’s first year revenues delivered an impressive 26% of total revenue for TalkFree, Inc., in 2009.
TalkFree currently operates mainly in the Middle East and Africa with targeted new growth coming from Southeast Asia and rural areas of South America.
