It was an exciting day this past Monday, March 8th, over at the Madrid Pro Designs (MPD) manufacturing facility in Huntington Beach, CA. Madrid produces some of the highest quality boards in the world; consisting of 100% hard Maple or Birch wood. These decks can be shaped and customized to your hearts desire or you can choose from the hundreds of templates that Madrid has shaped & designed over their 35 years of manufacturing skateboards.
Recently through Nick Guyette, a mutual friend of Adam Dyet & Jerry Madrid, Adam was introduced to Fly Paper Grip Tape. Adam felt that Fly Paper Grip would compliment his current list of top-notch sponsors such as Darkstar, Bones, Rock Star, Indy, Nixon, BC Surf & Sport, Green Room, Skatepark of Tampa Party Team, Skatepark of Tampa Gambling Team, Neff and Skull Candy.
Adam also works with Nick Guyette volunteering and working with various charities and organizations to promote skateboarding within the inner cities. Most recently, these two, along with the Maloof Money Cup Street Team, hooked up with the Hollenbeck Youth Center and participated in the "Miracle on 1st Street" event this past December. Just kids alone, there were over 10,000 boys and girls from LA's inner cities receiving Christmas presents they wouldn't have otherwise received. However, thanks to the many awesome sponsors of the event such as the service men & women of the local police & fire departments, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Dub and Stand By Boards, these kids were able to have a wonderful, joy-filled day of fun and laughter (and some tears of happiness).
Adam was the big hit of the day amongst LA's skaters who were in attendance. Adam skated and hung out with these kids and even signed autographs for them and gave a select few an autographed deck! Adam was there all day for the entire event and took the time to genuinely try and get to know each one of those kids he met that day, which needless to say, is a hard quality to find and only a select few possess. There's even a picture floating around with Adam meeting California's governor Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger!
With Adam now apart of the newly fashioned Fly Paper pro skate team, he'll be able to switch up those sick tricks on the Fly. Madrid is stoked to have Adam Dyet on board and as part of their family. So grab you board, go get your skate on and be a fly guy (or gal). Time to Riot with Dyet!!!
