Birmingham-born Sion Nicole Wiggan has appeared in promotional shoots, brand advertising and music videos for globally famous artists such as Massive Attack, but felt that her old name did not reflect her personality.
Often chosen by brands for her tattooed persona, ‘Princess Sion Nicole’ has racked up over 24 tattoos in nearly as many years and is regularly selected by urban artists for work.
Princess, who admits she is addicted to tattoos said: “I have been modeling for a year and a half now and it is an extremely competitive industry. Any opportunity to stand out should be taken. I am instantly memorable, which is partly down to my tattoos. I have teardrops tattooed on my face and tattoos all over my hands which makes me unique, but my name just didn’t convey that message.”
After changing her name by Deed Poll with The Legal Deed Service for just £10, Princess hopes that she will sail through some forthcoming modelling competitions now she has all the tools to succeed.
Princess, who has recently appeared in Pride Magazine for being addicted to tattoo’s, added, “I always hated the name Sion and I changed my name to Princess unofficially on Facebook a while back. When I found out that it was just £10 to change your name officially with The Legal Deed Service, I decided to take the plunge. I haven’t told many people about my name change yet but they will find out soon enough.”
Jamie Jackson, chief executive of The Legal Deed Poll Service, who were responsible for legally changing Christine Hamilton's name to ‘Mrs. British Battleaxe’, along with changing two of the Big Brother housemates names to Dogface and Halfwit, said, “We get so many crazy name change applications, but it is great when we conduct name changes that will help individuals to progress in their chosen career.
“It really is so easy to change your name by Deed Poll and I think many people are surprised at just how easy it is to do.
“An applicant just needs to fill out and send us a simple online application form along with £10 for an adult name change and within a few days they will receive an official deed which should be signed in the presence of a witness. Once this has been done their new name is official.”
Princess, who lives in Hanslow with her five year old little boy, Rumia Massius Delgado added, “I would definitely recommend changing your name to others who would like to progress in their chosen career, I feel now that I have the right name to move forward and that can only be a good thing.”
