March 20, 2010 - PRLog -- It used to be that in order to keep track of your inventory, whether it was clothing goods, books, or animals, or another other inventory item, you had to do a manual count every now and then, and meticulously record their comings and goings in a myriad of accounting books.  These days, inventory and livestock management, and even people management for that matter, is completely automated.  It is a simple matter of tagging your inventory or your people with RFID tags and then using sophisticated devices to track their whereabouts and their comings and goings.  Not only are the devices and the software that are available very affordable, they are also virtually error proof.

For example, if your concern is with livestock management, there are simple RFID tags available that you can use to keep track of anything from poultry to large animals like cows or sheep.  The tags that are available can be affixed to the leg of a bird, or attached to the ear of a cow or other large animal.  There are also key fob tags that can be affixed to a collar.  Working with a RFID reader, depending on the frequency of the RFID card or tag that you have chosen, you will be able to quickly capture data on the animal, either as it is coming or going, or when you bring it in for inoculations.

In a similar fashion, you can also tag your inventory, whether it is jewellery, clothing, books or large goods, and use these RFID tags to help you keep track of things.  Tags are available that can be affixed to virtually anything, facilitating stock control, sales accounting, and loss prevention.  Furnished with portable readers, your staff can easily walk around your premises taking inventory and will know immediately if items are available as well as whereabouts they were last located.

If it is people that you need to track, there are also simple wristband devices that you can use.  These wristband RFID devices are available in both passive and active models, whether you need to just know their comings and goings, or you need to actively track information about their whereabouts, their medical history or what have you.  The passive devices are often used for event management such as at amusements parks as well as part of a patient or newborn management system in hospitals.  The active devices are used for similar situations, and have more advanced tracking options.

No matter what your needs, there is an RFID tag for every application.  If you would like to discuss your needs in more detail and would like assistance finding what will work for your specific needs, the staff at RFID Info Tek is extremely knowledgably and always willing to assist.  They can be reached by email at sales@rfidinfotek.com or by telephone at 1-888-NOW-RFID (1-888-669-7343) within North America, or at 1-647-989-1705 all over the world.
