Going Green While Saving Green

Poughkeepsie, New York – In A New York Minute Concierge Service, a company that offers employers, hotels and individuals, custom concierge and lifestyle management, has entered into a strategic partnership with Segway of the Hudson Valley, a company offering green transportation alternatives, marketing and custom events based in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The partnership will enable In A New York Minute and Segway of the HV to leverage their respective specialties to help develop new business opportunities and increase their marketing reach.

This unique idea sparked during a conversation between Christopher Short, Business Manager of In A New York Minute and fellow colleague, Jason White of Segway of the Hudson Valley. They are currently discussing plans to develop a fleet of light electric vehicles (LEV’s) to facilitate In A New York Minute’s courier and errand services, a new way for each company to support the green movement.

“Our company has had several requests from clients to organize and manage fundraisers for a variety of organizations and non profits. The trend for outdoor events such as music festivals or sports tournaments has been steadily increasing.” Said Christopher Short, Business Manager for In A New York Minute. “With that, budgets have also been decreasing. After talking with Jason, we saw the Segway Personal Transporter (PT) as the perfect tool to help manage and facilitate events more effectively and for less cost. When a venue has several areas of action happening at the same time, using a Segway PT enables us to cover more ground with less staff allowing for greater productivity.    

This is just the first of several ideas In A New York Minute and Segway of the Hudson Valley are currently planning to promote green technology and event management in the greater Hudson Valley. Several other projects that will compliment each other’s businesses are currently under development. Short continued, “Working with local businesses has always been our main focus. We are always looking for ways to bring additional value for the services we offer to our clients. Partnering with Segway of the Hudson Valley has given us a new perspective on how local entrepreneurs can work together and create new ideas that will benefit owners and customers alike.”
