Thomson Sport’s sister company show their support for Sport Relief
Inspired by Christine Bleakley‘s Thomson Sport Relief Water Ski Challenge Tunbridge Wells based gap year company Real Gap will be rising to their own challenge, by swimming the equivalent of the breadth of the English Channel for Sport Relief.
Between the 29th March and the 1st April, Real Gap, a sister company of Thomson Sport, have set themselves the Real Gap Swimming the Channel Challenge! It will see a select group of swimmers cover 35,553 metres over 4 days – the same distance that Christine Bleakley water-skied for Sport Relief last week. Participants will be heading to their local pools across the 4 day period in an effort to raise £1000 for Sport Relief.
The Real Gap fundraising mission has already begun with staff showcasing their culinary prowess and taste in fashion with a ‘Get your kit on’ sports clothes day, an office Pancake Day and a bring-and-buy cake sale. They’ve so far managed to collect £200 for Sport Relief, and will also be calling on the people of Tunbridge Wells to assist in their fundraising efforts as they hit the high street on 20th March dressed in a variety of retro sports gear to collect donations from generous locals.
Real Gap Sport Relief Champion, Nicola Needham, said: ‘It’s great to see our Real Gap staff get behind Sport Relief with such enthusiasm. We offer many worthwhile volunteer projects all over the world and with Sport Relief helping those living unimaginably tough lives both here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries, it provides us with a fantastic opportunity to offer support and help raise cash.’’
Real Gap has been working in association with volunteer organisations across the globe for a number of years, sending thousands of volunteers to assist with community, environmental and wildlife projects.
