Subconscious Mind and Its Influence on Conscious Reality

and ordinary people can learn to do it. Never underestimate the power of the subconscious mind.

March 18, 2010 - PRLog -- The subconscious mind has a very powerful impact on the conscious mind via both direct and indirect pathways. Even though one is unaware, the brain is responsible for regulating heartbeat. This is evidenced by the fact that some people can mentally affect their own blood pressure and heartbeat.

Most of us, however, have little awareness of blood pressure until it is measured with a blood pressure cuff. Yet, I've seen people who were so concerned with their blood pressure that they checked it with a cuff a couple of times every hour. I'd say that is clearly an example of both conscious and unconscious activity being affected by an unconscious process (blood pressure).

Another fairly straightforward example of the unconscious mind's influence on the conscious mind is seen in the following illustration. We all know people who are predisposed to view things a particular way. For example, some people are raised to believe that good things come to those who work hard, and others to believe that everything is just the stack of the cards. The first person will be on the lookout for good things when they work hard and therefore will be more likely to see the good things.

Even if for that reason alone, the subconscious mind causes reality to be more full of good things. Furthermore people who feel that they are living in abundance tend to be happier and more fun loving, and thus more enjoyable to be around. Those on the other end of the spectrum tend to be thought of as having a sour disposition. They are also often thought of as not being team players.

In reality, people with sour dispositions may actually work harder than others, but they are not perceived that way. People who are fun to be around have more friends - friends are more likely to be helpful than non-friends. The chain of causal connections just never ends. When it seems to end, the unconscious mind starts it up again, and again.

Some people think what I just said is radical and somewhat overstated. In fact, however, what is stated above is not even the tip of the iceberg. Duke University has applied hard scientific investigations to all kinds of claims of extra sensory phenomena. The results of their 60 years of serious scientific study will be subjects of future articles. Rest assured, much of the really far out stuff (remote viewing, telekinesis, astral projection) is for real. and ordinary people can learn to do it. Never underestimate the power of the subconscious mind.
