Local Computer Training Institution Now Offering Advanced Penetration Tester (APT) Certification

Academy of Computer Education® will offer its first Advanced Penetration Tester (APT) training course in May 2010.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 18, 2010 -
GREENBELT, Md., March 18, 2010 – Academy of Computer Education® (ACE) has added the Advanced Penetration Tester (APT) certification training class to its list of offerings.

In recent years, the number of high-profile companies being hacked into has increased dramatically. The intentions of hackers have also been changing. In years past, hackers just wanted to have some fun on other peoples' computer systems and brag to their friends. Modern attackers want money, identity, and proprietary information, and they do not want to get caught.

The new attack techniques that hackers are using are virtually undetectable by antivirus and other electronic defenses traditionally used by corporations. Experts say the new cyberburglary tools pose a serious threat to corporate America and the long-term competitiveness of the nation.

“We have never ever, outside of the defense industry, seen commercial industrial companies come under that level of sophisticated attack,” says Dmitri Alperovitch, vice president of threat research for McAfee. “It’s totally changing the threat model.”

Security consultant and trainer Joe McCray has a solution. He has developed a course specifically for system administrators, network administrators, and computer security professionals called Advanced Penetration Testing.

Advanced Penetration Testing (APT): Pentesting High Security Environments is a five-day intensive course that concentrates on defending highly secured environments. This is not your normal ethical hacking course, as you will learn how to handle environments for 3-letter agencies, DoD, financial organizations, federal organizations, and large companies. You will also learn how to attack new operating systems such as Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and the latest Linux/Unix servers.

The first Advanced Penetration Testing session offered by ACE will begin on Monday, May 17, 2010 and conclude on Friday, May 21. The course will last from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day. Visit http://www.trainace.com/courses/apt/ to learn more about the APT course.
