NYC Irish Pop Sensation Maud In Cahoots Light Up The Sissy Gamache Show

March 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Maud Reardon moved to New York in June 2007 to pursue her life long ambition to be a popstar.  Growing up in Dublin, Ireland, she promised herself she would not be a big fish in a small pond. So Maud packed up and jumped feet first into the biggest pond there is. Having recorded in such studios as THE CUTTING ROOM New York, she has finally found her voice with the backing of two top New York musicians and her sister Zoe. Together, they are MAUD IN CAHOOTS.

Opening to rave reviews at Lucky Jack’s, in New York’s Lower East Side on the night of October 29th, George Kimball (The Irish Times) describes the sound as ‘unique’.  Maud calls it contemporary alternative pop, mixed in with soul, Motown and the occasional glockenspiel solo!  With Violin, Tuba, Cello and Piano the sound is certainly not conventional.  Maud and her troop of classically trained musical misfits jump from one instrument to another with the ease of old pros but with everyone in the group under the age of 25, they bring youth and vigour to the genre defying sound.

With her soulful voice, Maud makes quirky observations on faith, relationships, life and the colorful characters she’s met along the way. ‘L.E.S. B*TCH’ pays homage to the hipsters on the Lower East Side in all their plaid-wearing glory. What makes MAUD IN CAHOOTS stand out from the crowd is inventive musicality, quality, radio-friendly songs and her own talent and charisma as a singer.

In the meantime things are busy for the young singer in New York.  MAUD IN CAHOOTS just performed in Houston, Texas on St Patricks Day and then on to Austin for the SXSW Music Festival . “I’m excited, things are really starting to come together but I won’t be satisfied until I have the billboard up in Times Square!”

The Sissy Gamache Show has hit its first year of a successful run on MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) Channel 56 airing live Fridays at 7:30pm.The Sissy Gamache show was created to provide an outlet for people in the arts and media in relation to all industries to talk about their contribution to their profession and community in an open and free environment with someone who is experiencing the same journey herself.
