Pacific Hills School is gearing up for another great summer with an extensive offering of PHS Summer School classes and our award-winning What’s Cool About Middle School? summer camp.
What’s Cool About Middle School? is a two-week summer camp designed to assist children entering 5th-8th grade in finding methods to make the transition to Middle School easier and more successful.
Campers are exposed to a variety of lifelong learning skills including time management, public speaking, organizational skills, and gaining confidence in one’s abilities. The children engage in fun activities that teach these lessons through sports, art projects, games, activities, and daily field trips, reinforcing day themes such as organization, following directions, communication, classroom etiquette, teambuilding and more.
A National Schools of Character “Promising Practices” Award recipient for 2006, the Character Education Partnership selected this program to serve as a model for others across the country.
Two sessions will be offered: June 28 - July 9 and July 12 - July 23. Camp will run Monday through Friday, 8:45 am - 4:00 pm, on the campus of Pacific Hills School. The fee for 2-week program is $499. Please contact Ada Herrera at (310) 276-3068 or aherrera@phschool.org for more details.
PHS Summer School provides the opportunity for students to enrich their schoolwork in preparation for the 2010/2011 academic school year, to improve their credit standing for high school requirements, and/or to raise their grades in a particular subject area. Small class size allows for personalized attention.
PHS Summer School consists of two sessions; each session is the equivalent to one course semester with 5 earned credits, and lasts three weeks. A maximum of two semesters can be taken during the entire summer school program. Summer classes are open to students from any school and include multiple levels in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish.
The PHS Summer School program begins June 21st and runs through July 29th. Classes meet from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Tuition is $595 for one class session and $995 for two sessions. Please contact Ada Herrera at (310) 276-3068 or aherrera@phschool.org for more details.
