Softtek Named Socially Responsible Company by Mexican Center for Philanthropy

MEXICO CITY – Softtek, a global provider of IT and business process solutions and the largest private IT service provider in Latin America, announced that it has been recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI in Spanish) as a Socially Responsible Company (ESR® in Spanish). The award, which will be presented today in the Hotel Camino Real, is given to Softtek for their commitment to corporate social responsibility, which included118 events, six special projects and 208 acts focused on community improvement.  

As part of their socially responsible initiatives, Softtek created its “Go-Save” and “Go-Recycle” programs, both of which promote the sustainable, environmentally-conscious use of water, electric energy and office consumption. These programs also helped Softtek to achieve significant savings in the use of water and energy, while preventing water contamination.

Moreover, Softtek’s community initiatives led to their collaboration with Fundación Solidaria, a foundation devoted to the development of underprivileged groups. Through this partnership, Softtek has helped over 3,870 underserved communities in areas where the company operates.

In addition to its community outreach endeavors, Softtek has worked hard to provide a high quality of life to its employees, another stipulation of CEMEFI award winners. As testament to this, Softtek offers special programs and benefits that contribute to the personal and professional development of its organization.  In 2009 alone, Softtek held 87 cultural, sporting and social events, workshops and courses.
