March 17, 2010 - PRLog -- EASTON, PA (March 16 2010) The NHSCA National Wrestling Championships is the most prestigious high school sports event throughout the country.  The NHSCA Championships already has 47 states and 2 European countries represented as entries.  To date, this year’s field won more than 600 state titles, including (13) four time state champions, (36) three time state     champions, and (156) two time state champions.  The field also owns more than 870 state place finishers.

Of the many registered wrestlers to compete in this year’s tournament, 55 will be representing Alaska next week in Virginia Beach.

“For this year’s tournament, I’m hoping the boys stay healthy, wrestle well and have the opportunity to place,” said Alaska Coach Mark Hoffer. “We have a wide coverage all over the state. We are bringing an All American and a Junior National champion, who is looking for success on the senior circuit.”

Last year, Alaska’s only place winner in the junior division was Nathan Hoffer who took home the 140 lb national title. This year Hoffer returns to the tournament hoping to repeat his performance from last year.

“The NHSCA Nationals is an awesome opportunity for the kids,” said Coach Hoffer. “It brings kids from all over the nation and it opens the eyes of the wrestlers to see the competition and what it has to offer.”

The NHSCA National Wrestling Championship will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia from March 23rd to March 28th.
