Vedanta Aluminium Limited, Lanjigarh donated a new fully operational Ambulance to the Satya Sai Seva Samiti at Ambodola on July 23, 2009. The emergency vehicle was dedicated for public Service by Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, VAL. He handed over the keys and necessary documents of the Vehicle to K. Tripati Rao Convener of Satya Sai Seva Samiti.
The Ambulance will be mainly used for facilitate emergency medical services to peoples of Ambodola and its surrounding villages. Addressing the gathering Dr. Mukesh Kumar said, “Vedanta makes every effort to promote comprehensive healthcare for poor and tribals in Lanjigarh and Ambodola area. The Ambulance will help people in the area to get access to health services in emergencies”
Dr. Satya Sundar Biswal, Medical Officer of Ambodola PHC thanked Vedanta for the support. Accepting the ambulance, Mr. K. Tripati Rao said that there was no ambulance service available at Ambodola and public had to face several problems, especially during emergencies. This Ambulance provided by Vedanta will help the people a lot, he added. The Ambulance would be managed by The Satya Sai Seva Samiti.
Mr. Mohan Sahu, Member of Satya Sai Seva Samiti; Mr. Samiron Sarkar, Head (CSR); Dr. Sabita Swain, Chief Medical Officer of Vedanta Aluminium were also present in the simple function, held at Ambodola Primary Health Centre.
