The new Dynatronics Solaris light therapy system uses a 1,000 mW Superluminous Diode applicator with a wavelength of 880 nm. The therapy is delivered using either a hand held light probe for a more concentrated and localized treatment, or a larger light pad that can cover larger areas and can be wrapped around injured parts of the arm or leg. The Solaris system’s light therapy has a number of benefits that help accelerate the healing process and relieve pain faster than conventional treatments alone. It increases circulation to injured areas by increasing the formation of new capillaries which speed up the healing process by carrying more oxygen and nutrients in and removing waste products such as lactic acid from the area. Light therapy stimulates the production of collagen which is essential to tissue repair. It also stimulates the release of ATP. It also reduces the excitability of nerves by bombarding irritated nervous tissue with negatively charged photons, causing the release of positively charged calcium molecules, resulting in a calming effect within the nerve. The Solaris system stimulates fibroblastic activity which enhances the repair process and increases phagocytosis, which is the process by which specialized cells clean up dead or injured cells in order for proper healing to take place. The combination of the above effects results in effective pain relief, faster healing times, and a stronger, more efficient end product.
