GLADYS magazine announces their Official South Florida Launch Party and Fundraiser for Lauren’s Light on April 24, 2010 at 6:00pm in the evening. The event, produced by Manny Alonso Productions entitled “EXTRAVAGANZA”
The April 24th event will raise funds for Lauren’s Light founded in 2002 by local South Florida residents Ben & Malvina Feinswog. It was discovered during an emergency C-section that their 33 year old married daughter and mother of 3 year old Joshua had colon cancer that had gone undetected during her pregnancy. The cancer had spread and sadly Lauren died within the year. Baby Matthew survived, premature but miraculously healthy. Her parents and her husband found that although there were many programs and support groups for a patient with cancer, none specifically targeted families with young children. They started Lauren’s Light to help families with young children in which a parent has been diagnosed with cancer.
The Show will be a “Premiere Spectacle of Fashion, Jewels, Music & Dance”, and will feature bridal & evening gowns from Chic Parisien and jewelry by Jimmy Quiroga Designs. There will be a special performance by The New Century Dance Company, and singer and actor Marko Figueroa from Telemundo’s “Perro Amor”.
A select group of Florida women were chosen for their style & grace and commitment to family & community. They will be modeling evening gowns in the Show and will be featured as part of an editorial entitled “Florida Ladies We Love” in the July issue of Gladys. Another aspect of the show will be several newly wed brides who will be modeling their own wedding gowns, purchased from Chic Parisien within the last couple of years. Imagine the opportunity to wear your wedding gown again, in a Cathedral like a real wedding, only this time without the stress of your wedding day!
