Senior coach of Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club, Marie Mitchell, said:
“We are delighted that Opus Energy has created a fantastic opportunity that will inspire young gymnasts to excel in the sport. The club is thrilled at the prospect of having local hero Daniel run a training session. Who knows, one of the competition winners may one day emulate Daniel and be in with a chance of Olympic success.”
Daniel is showing huge potential for the 2012 Olympics having already won Britain’s first ever medal at the men’s All Around event at the 2009 World Championships. Having trained hard in Mexico for the European Championships, Daniel is hopeful for this year’s competition, commenting: “Hopefully we will get on the podium for the first time as a team at the major championships.”
Opus Energy has supported many local initiatives including a pledge to raise £10,000 for the Friends of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
