The EV-Revolution to be fought “Nano-A-Nano”

Well there is no doubt anymore about the EV-Revolution. Front soldiers Altairnano and Tata Nano have already left to the battle station. Big oil beast is not easy to defeat and as it appears, it is going to be a Nano-A-Nano combat.

The EV-Revolution to be fought “Nano-A-Nano”

With a title like this you would expect to read something like ... Mano-A-Mano Achievement in Batman: Arkham Asylum. ... Take on a beast in hand to hand combat. Nop, here it’s not about a game but some serious business developments about Tata Nano EV on the one hand and Altairnano / Portera EV Bus deployment. I will not elaborate too much about the NanoEV because enough ink has already been spent on this news flash since the beginning of the Geneva Motor Show. I have already written an article about the subject you can find here: Tata Nano Ev: Why Every College Student Will Want And Love This Car at http://www.prlog.org/10563408.html

While not in the spotlight, the development on Altair nanotechnologies and Portera front is very significant. Since 2006 when Dr Alan Gotcher, then the CEO of the company, announced the partnership with Phoenix Motor Cars and Boshart Engeneering, not much has been said about the Nanosafe lithium titanate batteries. They are by far the best and safest Li ion batteries in the world, recharge fully in less than 10 minutes and last at least 15 years in any climate. The top fastest most luxurious and expensive electric vehicle in the world: the Lightning GT and GTS use them. In October 2008 The WORLDs FASTEST ELECTRIC VEHICLE known as KillaCycle used the nanosafe to beat the world record at 7.82 seconds. However it is the Portera bus that will put the Nano battery in a leading position for the EV-Revolution alongside Tata Nano EV, the cheapest EV in the world. There is an article titled  “Altairnano Batteries Make Proterra A Magic Bus”  Read More www.wired.com/autopia/2009/11/altairnano-proterra/#ixzz0iBZtLjoR

Tucked under the floor of the Portera bus are lithium titanate Nanosafe batteries from Altairnano  capable of covering a 2.5 hour-long bus route after a single five or ten minute rapid charge. “A bus will go in a 25 mile loop at 11-12 miles per hour on a two hour circuit, always coming back to the same spot during that circuit,” AltairNano CEO Terry Copeland said. “If bus drivers are stopping every loop for a five minute break, you know you can recharge the battery.”

This is truly revolutionary and likely to expand rapidly to other states and cities in the USA. More importantly during the 3/11/10 conference call the Ceo of the company reiterated his confidence that 2010 will be a very good year for the company and I might add the EV industry as a whole. They expect business from outside the US to be more forthcoming due to less regulations and red tapes. The green car report  Investment Analysis of the Hybrid & Electric by  Peter J. Conley & Jon Hickman November 10, 2008 quotes “There is nothing more powerful than change whose time has come”.

Well there is no doubt anymore  about the EV-Revolution. Front soldiers Altairnano and Tata Nano have already left to the battle station. Big oil beast is not easy to defeat and as it appears, it is going to be a Nano-A-Nano combat.
