Bo Kauffmann of Remax Performance Realty reports that condos are once again proving to be an excellent choice for first time home buyers.
"I had noticed this trend a couple of years ago, when prices for detached homes were going thru the roof. After that, there was a time when condos became a more popular choice, and prices jumped accordingly. We are NOW, in my opinion, entering another time when condos provide excellent value once again."
Consider this: Bo recently listed a 700 sq ft bi-level home in the south end of the city. Although this home had a few upgrades, it did not have a garage, nor where appliances included. This home received 11 offers and sold for over $215,000.
As an alternative, Bo points to several townhome condos available in the south end of the city. At 1100 sq ft in size, these units offer plenty of space, and great features such as insuite laundry, central air-condition, central furnace, upgrades to bathrooms, parking spots and low condo fees.
