A poll carried out on behalf of Jurys Inn, the popular hotel chain in the United Kingdom, has rated Southampton the most tourist-friendly city in the country.
Four thousand adults from thirty cities across the United Kingdom were polled by the Spotlight on Service research of Jurys Inn. The hotel chain's releasing of its poll results coincides with British Tourism Week 2010.
The research further revealed that 55 per cent of the people would return to stay in a hotel if they were provided with excellent service besides a cordial welcome. However, according to the survey only 4 per cent would not consider service to the customers while deciding on a return to a hotel.
On the other hand, a majority of 51 per cent customers that responded to the survey opined that a comfortable and clean room was the most significant factor when staying in a hotel.
According to the chief executive of Jurys Inn John Brennan, with London 2012 in the horizon the service industry in the United Kingdom, particularly in the capital were required to deliver exemplary customer service everytime.
