The often judgmental atmosphere of a rural community in 1945 serves as both obstacle and intrigue as a frightened young woman tries to live her life, raise her daughter and follow her heart the best she can. Inspired by the real life story of how her parents met, author Karen Thompson-Stewart put pen to paper, writing a beautiful story of what happens when something you love and someone you want come together. This novel is proof that the best love stories are real life ones.
