Being a caregiver is hard and often unrecognized work. Family and friends as well as nurses and other professionals take care of elderly loved ones with little to no expectations of congratulations or thanks. Country Cottages in Hoover is changing that with the Birmingham Caregiver of the Year Award. This year Country Cottages is recognizing both individual and professional caregivers with two separate awards.
“Without daily caregivers, many elderly people would become discouraged and overwhelmed,”
Country Cottages has partnered with Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama, Alabama Interface Coalition on Aging, and Columbia Cottage Assisted Living. Together, these agencies and the Cottages will honor the caregivers that generously give their time every day to help the senior citizens of our community.
Nominations for Caregiver of the Year will be taken through Monday, April 5th. Forms can be mailed to Country Cottages at 4000 Greenwood Drive, Hoover, AL 35216 or faxed to 987-0865. You can also submit an online nomination form by visiting www.cottageassistedliving.com/
Caregiver of the Year nomination forms are available at Country Cottages, in the Birmingham News and online at www.cottageassistedliving.com/
