Bioo Scientific, a world leader in food safety testing, today announced the availability of its MaxSignal® Beta-Lactam ELISA Test Kit. This kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay that quantitatively detects a broad range of beta-lactam antibiotics including ampicillin, penicillin G, amoxicillin, cloxacillin, oxacillin and cephalosporins (i.e. cefoperazone, ceftiofur, etc) in milk, meat, tissue, fish, urine and plasma samples.

With a detection limit of 0.4 ppb for most sample types, the MaxSignal® Beta Lactam ELISA Test Kit allows for the accurate detection of beta-lactams at or below their maximum residue limits. The sample prep protocols are inexpensive and fast, ranging from 10 minutes - 1 hour depending upon sample type, and offer a recovery rate of >80%. The kit includes all required reagents including standards plus a pre-coated, 96-well microtitre breakaway strip plate.
