Briarcliffe College is hosting an exhibition of work by Long Island members of the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) through March, April and May. The exhibition at the Briarcliffe College Patchogue location at 225 West Main Street in Patchogue is open to the public on Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m; Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Gallery is closed on Sundays.
NLAPW is a membership organization for professional women of letters (such as authors, dramatists, periodical writers, photo journalists, poets, press writers, and script writers), art (architects, cartoonists, craftswomen, designers, graphic artists, illustrators, painters, photographers, and sculptors), and composition (music and dance).
Briarcliffe College/Patchogue -- the only Suffolk County college campus to offer a BFA program in Graphic Design, with specific concentrations in animation, digital photography, multimedia and web design opens its Great Room to the community for public hearings, gatherings and special exhibitions, including last year’s first-ever Patchogue Arts Biennial.
According to Briarcliffe College Patchogue Campus Director Lou Commisso, “Opening our doors to the community and to the arts also opens the eyes of our students to the greater world around them.”
