On this day, March 11, 2010 Z Global Mart, The Fashion Industry’s Virtual Trade Show, has officially been taken off the internet due to partnership issues and under capitalization.
It is with great sadness that we find ourselves here today, when this vehicle for the fashion industry was designed to complement and aid our fashion industry’s colleagues navigate these economic difficult waters by providing an avenue to promote their lines and directly sell to wholesale buyers without having to spend thousands and thousand of dollars on physical trade shows.
A wonderful platform which unfortunately was not given the proper foundation to execute the business plan.
Z Global Mart is not a simple HTML or PHP website, it’s a hugely complex system in ASP.NET, MS SQL Server, Code Repository, version control, dependency dlls, Visual Studio, etc. Its basically a site composed of two sites, the flash that tells you about the site and from which you register, etc., and the e-commerce side that is a clone of Louis Vuitton’s previous retail version.
