Cincinnati, Ohio – Many Christians have heard of the armor of God listed by the apostle Paul: the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith and more. An in-depth study of each of these ancient items yields some incredible lessons that provide practical, real-world answers for Christians today.
Paul wrote his letter to the Church of God in Ephesus while imprisoned under the watchful eyes of Roman soldiers. Observing their armor, he came to see that, just as the Roman soldiers required the best physical armor to win their wars, Christians need the armor of God to successfully fight their adversary, Satan the devil.
Paul explained that by putting on all of God’s armor, the Christian can be assured of withstanding the enemy’s onslaughts.
Research into the function of each piece of armor and the attribute Paul assigns to it has been turned into nine fascinating and helpful online Bible study lessons.
