Panera Bread’s Yorktown Heights Cafe was pleased to donate $1000 to the Lambert family whose house was destroyed by fire on December 12, 2009. Bill Lambert & Michelle Bonamassa-Lambert, along with their two children, fortunately escaped the blaze, but lost most of their personal belongings and their entire home in the fire. On Saturday, February 6th, Panera organized a fundraising event and donated five percent (5%) of total net sales for the day to the Lambert family. Cash donations from the public were also accepted and included in the donation amount.
“Panera Bread is committed to serving the members of the local community, many of whom have had their lives touched by tragedies such as this one,” states Tony Diaz, Operations Partner of Take Home the Bread, Franchisee. “We are honored to be able to help the Lamberts get their lives back on track.” Lauren Voorhees, Regional Catering Manager for Panera Bread, organized the event. "The Lamberts expressed their gratitude for our efforts to assist their family,” states Voorhees.
