Hixson Wins Award at CANstruction 2010

Hixson Architecture, Engineering, Interiors, along with partner Reece Campbell Inc., took home one of the top awards from the 13th Annual Cincinnati CANstruction event co-sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.    

The team's entry, "CANasaurus," won the Structural Ingenuity Award for its use of nearly 6,000 cans of tuna to form a replica of a dinosaur.  More importantly, approximately 68,000 cans were donated after the event by the participating teams to the Cincinnati Freestore Foodbank to feed less fortunate families within the community.

The competition was held downtown in the Weston Art Gallery at the Aronoff Center on Friday, March 5, 2010 and structures are available for public viewing until March 15, 2010. This marks the eighth year Hixson has participated in the event.
