Community Workforce Solutions Announces Grand Re-Opening of Thrift Store

Community Workforce Solutions, Inc. recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the Community Workforce Solutions Thrift Store in Henderson.
 
March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC – Community Workforce Solutions, Inc., (CWS) a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment, recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the Community Workforce Solutions Thrift Store in Henderson.  The store, which had been located at 303 S. Garnett St. has been relocated to the CWS Henderson Main site located at 602 S. Garnett St.

The grand re-opening was held on Thursday, February 25th and was attended by Henderson mayor James D. "Pete" O'Geary and other officials.  The store provides vocational training for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment, including cashiering, inventory, customer service and other retail skills that prepare them for wider work opportunities.

Among the items carried include family casual and formal clothing, books, furniture and household goods.  Donations are accepted during business hours and there is a drop box available for after hours donations.  Pickup is available by contacting the manager at 252-492-6011.  Store hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 – 5 and Wednesday and Saturday from 10 – 3.  

“The thrift store has been a vital part of Henderson for many years,” said Roger McGee, CWS Executive Director. “We are extremely grateful for the support that the people of Vance County have shown, allowing us to continue to provide these important vocational services to individuals with disabilities.  We are very proud of how we were able to integrate the thrift store into our facility at the Henderson site and believe this relocation will grant us the ability to serve additional people while still meeting the needs of our customers.”
