Tracy and John were on holiday in Greece when John had a recurrence of his heart problem. He took regular medication to steady the rhythm of his heart but his heart has been beating very slowly over the last two days making him feel dreadful. He made an appointment to see a local doctor who explained that the best thing to do is stop all his medication for the time being. Tracy and John agreed during the appointment to do that but when they come away they worried that stopping so abruptly might cause other problems and they realised they didn’t know when they ought to restart the treatment. They could have let their worries ruin their holiday or they could have contacted ThanksDr and had a dialogue with a British doctor. Had they done the latter they would have been reassured that stopping the medicine for a short time is safe and would have know the circumstances in which they should a) restart the medicine at a lower dose and b) see a doctor again. Having support from a British doctor in these situations can give confidence and reassurance or even courage to seek further help if necessary.
ThanksDr (http://www.thanksdr.co.uk) allows customers to quickly and easily find information and gain understanding about their health issues, without having to battle through the vast confusion of complex, irrelevant and overly generic information available on the web. It's like having a Doctor as a good friend who you can turn to for that extra reassurance, advice or help (and better still, having that friend be an expert in that field of medicine). And when might you most need a friend to provide you some advice? When you are on holiday and everything is that much more foreign and confusing.
