West Palm Beach, FL – Champions and puppies alike will return this week for a special kind of dog show weekend to benefit local animal rescue organizations. Hosted by The Palm Beach County Dog Fancier’s Association, the events will include two AKC sanctioned dog shows and a variety of family-friendly events including a contest for local school-age children.
The 78th and 79th annual club shows will be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds located at 9067 Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach on Saturday and Sunday March 13th and 14th from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.
Special Events Highlights include:
• Best Puppy in Show Spectacular, Saturday before Best in Show judging
• Grooming Demonstration, 11:30 Sunday
• Agility demonstrations, 11:30 am and 2:30 pm each day
• Meet the Breed booths, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm each day
• Children’
• Junior Showmanship Competition, each day
• Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC), 11:00 am and 3:00 on Saturday and 11:00 on Sunday
• Canine Assisted Therapy Test, following CGC on each day
• Carting Demonstrations, 12:15 pm each day
• Dog Show Tours, 10:00 am and 1:00 pm each day
• Special guest appearance by CH Brighton Minimoto (Remy), a Standard Poodle and 2007, 2008 Westminster Kennel Club Group Winner, 10:30 am each day
• Creative Children’s Essay Contest – open to 2nd to 5th grade school children. $50 gift card to first prize students, plus $50 gift card to the winner’s teacher. Do not need to be present to win.
• Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Pet Mobile will be on site each day
Over 1,000 dogs will be at this show and plenty of vendors.
Admission is $6.00. Children under 12 and those with a Palm Beach County School Board ID are free.
All proceeds benefit Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and other canine charities.
