Each training session will cover pre-splicing set-up and checks, fibre preparation and cleaving, fusion splicing and sleeve shrinking as well as field-maintenance procedures.
The customer’s own brand-new TCM FS01 Fusion Splicer will be used during training, making sure that operators are fully conversant with the equipment they will be using in the field. This approach also ensures that the fusion splicer is calibrated and ready for use.
According to Training Consultant John Kellow, “We have regular enquiries from engineers who have bought or hired fusion splicing units from various manufacturers. Usually they would have to attend several days training just to learn a reasonably straightforward operation. By taking the training to them and concentrating on the one task, we can ensure that they are fully up to speed with using their own equipment in the shortest time possible.”
