(Gentle)man Reform YOURSELF !

My suggestions to Man on the eve of “International Woman’s Day 2010″

March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- After the retirement, I picked up a healthy habit - I will roll-up an empty plastic bag in my hand and go for buying fresh vegetables, every evening, from the open street market. It gave me chance for outing and also chit-chatting with some favoured Sabji-walis.

But this evening some loud loud-speakers attracted my attention from the ground in vicinity. I strolled a little and found that a function was organized. There a big banner was reading “Reformation of Women”. But to my surprise, the Chairperson and other dignitaries on the dais were all Men.

I realized that I had lived 50 years with an ‘Un-reformed Woman’ and was excited to get good tips to enrich rest of my life. The program started, but started with big trouble.

As soon as the speaker addressed the audience “Ladies and Gentleman!”
A strong woman hurled her stout fist in air and blasted “Now, who is the GENTLEMAN here?”

The basic question that she raised strongly was so basic that it shook the foundation of all gentlemen present there.

There is a long history in the background of this Big Question. As soon as a lady encounters a gentleman for the first time in her life – she observes that the gentleman drops his wisdom and his gentleness with the drop of his clothes … and a Beast comes out of him to throw all ugly suppressed emotions and molests her both physically and mentally. This repeats in all seasons, all months and days of the year throughout her life. The next morning, the same Beast is honoured as Gentleman!

Probably, the last night was too much for this Lady - that shattered her honour and hence she raised the question so strongly, she shouted pointing an up-right thumb to herself “I take the jolts on my chest and clean-up the dirty spits … and you call HIM a Gentleman?”

I know her husband was there in the audience, but was posing as if he has no relation with this Lady. When I looked for him second time, he was vanished … and left the lady alone to fight her WAR against Men!!!

Suddenly there was STORM in the AIR!!! … Almost all the women felt their agony and were shouting in loud chorus. Soon the Gentlemen on dais slipped off gently to safety and charge was immediately taken over by a bunch of Strong Women.

The swift action of the new leadership was - tearing off the banner in to pieces … and announcement of following points for their new agenda.

1.      The original function of one hour shall be converted in to a “Women’s  Workshop” for Three Days.

2.      The new banner will read “Reformation of Domestic Beast!”

3.      Every (Women) Leader will carry a Roti Roller Pin (RRP)’ in her hand – symbolizing the ‘Strength of Woman Power (SWP)’.

I noticed my legs were shivering on my way back to home. I was tense with the thought that if this “female revolution” leaks to other towns, cities, cosmopolitans … and finally to UNO, then what fate will remain for male creatures in this World?

Strong Female Lobby in UNO will pass the resolution and put restrictions on Man - “NOT to release your Beast more than once a year that too with written consent of your female … and don’t forget to observe Religious & National Holydays”.

Whatever it is, this time, I silently took a solemn oath “I shall be very very gentle to my lady at Home.”

As I entered the entrance of my house, I noticed, she was rolling Chapatis for the dinner. I fully covered myself with gentleness and lovingly called “Hellooooo! … my sweet Gentle Laadyyyyy….”

She appeared with steel hard looks on her face and RRP in her hand, and fired me “Where have YOU been this Evening?”

Oh my God, I suddenly realized that the rolled plastic bag in my hand was still EMPTY!!! … I immediately rushed back to vegetable market; before that Sabji-walis will wind-up there shops.

On the lonely-street, I looked up and silently thanked God that I am still considered a gentleman in my Home.
