According to the Los Angeles Times "Mortgage rates sank near all-time lows this week". This is great news for Maine home buyers, and Maine first time home buyers looking to cash in on the $8,000 Government Tax Rebate.
Along with rates being at all-time lows, Maine property prices are at rock bottom and according toUniversity of Southern Maine Economist Charlie Colgan, "The good news in Maine's economy is that the worst of the recession is probably over." This means that if the recession is over, property prices may never be this low again.
The Government is giving Maine first time home buyers $8,000 if they put a property under contract by April 30th, 2010 and close by June 30th, 2010. If you are a Maine resident that is not a first time home buyer, you would receive $6,500 to purchase in that same time frame.
With the lowest Interest rates ever, the recession over, and the Government paying you to buy, NOW is the time for Maine resident's to buy a house.
