Major improvements to Power Cordz™ synthetic bicycle brake and derailleur cables for 2010

March 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Boise, ID, March 1, 2010 –Io DuPont, LLC announced significant changes to their Power Cordz™ synthetic bicycle brake and derailleur cables for 2010. Improvements include: optimized fibers, three color options, a stronger Zytel® outer jacket, new installation videos, and free practice cordz available with new purchases on request.

While traditional steel control cables remain looking like grey, twisted wire, Power Cordz are now available in jersey yellow, true white, and classic black.  “When coordinating, upgrading, and defining one’s ride are important, the decision is getting to be simpler,” said Tony DuPont, founder of Io DuPont and creator of Power Cordz. “We’ve had a tremendous response to the new colors and other improvements. Jersey yellow is quickly becoming a favorite.”

Power Cordz’ fibers have been optimized so the derailleur cables maintain their precision-accuracy for the entire, 3-year life of the cables. The brake cable’s fibers have been rearranged to maximize their slick and responsive feel at the rider’s fingertips.

Zytel® jackets are another reason to look again at Power Cordz this year. The tougher material now used to coat all Power Cordz cables makes for easier installation and helps the cordz last even longer. “Power Cordz already last 3 times longer than any other cable out there. With the improved jacket, we’re just widening the gap,” said DuPont. “These cables are going to look better and perform better, longer.”

New installation videos on the support page of the Power Cordz website and free practice cordz are adding to the 2010 program by helping to eliminate install problems. “In the past we’ve had feedback that Power Cordz can be hard to install and… that’s true—if you try to install them like they’re made of steel. We’re trying to get that message out. Power Cordz don’t have to be hard to put on your bike.”
