Halifax, Nova Scotia; research and social intelligence firm MediaBadger today announced the official opening of its office in London, England to better engage with existing clients and demand. The office in west London will coordinate all European and United Kingdom clients and projects. Some technical development of its monitoring and analysis software will also be conducted in England.
“We’ve been able to meet U.S. and Canadian client needs from Nova Scotia, but felt a direct presence in England would better serve growing demand in the EU and UK.” Says Robert Snell, co-founder and managing partner of MediaBadger who will run the UK office and oversee software development.
MediaBadger has developed a proprietary software that monitors the Internet and Social Media channels for consumer market research, brand analysis and reputation management. The software has it’s own search engine to go far beyond consumer search engines such as Google or Yahoo! deliver for results and applies a layer of Artificial Intelligence to help understand sentiment, gender and age groups among other data. The company provides research and digital media strategy to marketing and advertising agencies, public relations firms, businesses, government and non-profit organizations.
“About ninety percent of our business is between the U.S. and Europe, with the majority in Europe. Expanding into London was a logical business decision as the economic climate there improves.” Says managing director, Giles Crouch. The company will be looking to build its analyst, research and software development team over the next year in London and Halifax. “Our home base however, will remain in Halifax. We’ve forged strong relationships with partners in Nova Scotia and we believe the province is going to be an excellent base to continue to grow from.” Giles concludes.
