Follow on Google News | Greater Noida - Noida Expressway Prepared in Toll ModeIf you use the Greater Noida-Noida Expressway, be prepared to pay for that. Noida Authority said that vehicles using 23 km long stretch will have to pay toll tax once the Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida to Agra is operational.
By: PropertiesHut.com The Noida- Greater Noida Expressway, built in 2000, had been available free to use for commuters for the last 10 years. It was built jointly — while the Noida Authority paid for the 20 km stretch, the Greater Noida Authority paid for the rest. It was reportedly built at a cost of Rs 400 crore. The authority said the decision to charge toll was taken by the Uttar Pradesh administration in Lucknow recently. The management of the stretch has been handed over to Jaypee Infratech, the firm building the 165- km stretch of Yamuna Expressway. The group is expected to pay the cost of its construction to the Noida Authority, according to the terms of the agreement. The Noida- Greater Noida Expressway is just an extension of the Taj Expressway till Noida. The entire stretch will be converted to one road. Lakhs of people living in Greater Noida travel to Delhi and NCR for work daily and the move will adversely affect them. Toll rate will be fixed soon and it will be implemented probably simultaneously with the launch of Yamuna Expressway before the Commonwealth Games this year. A Jaypee Infratech spokesperson stated the fixing of toll rate on Noida- Greater Noida is still under process. The minimum toll for cars will be 80 paise per km Thus, if you drive down from Greater Noida to Delhi or NCR, you will have to shell out almost Rs 37 for a round- trip daily. A toll plaza would be built near Kondli, which will be converted to an eight- lane expressway from the present four lane road. Vehicles will have to pay toll tax at four places from Noida to Agra. Each plaza will receive toll tax for only its segment. Some realty firms felt the toll will act as a dampener for the real estate market, which is on the road to recovery from the economic slowdown. # # # Properties Hut provide the comprehensive news about the residential & commercial property in all the major as well as the second tier cities in India, including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata etc. http://www.propertieshut.com/ End
