Article Spinning Put To The Test

Does Article Spinning actually work? Or is it simply a waste of time? This has been an ongoing argument amongst SEO’s and internet marketers since the tactic first became popular. Today, two internet marketers set out to finally prove its worth.

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Everyone wants to be on page one of the search engines, the reasons are simple, extended product reach, improved brand awareness, increased sales enquiries and  raised profitability. Over the years webmasters have tried every technique, strategy and trick in order to secure the holy grail of online marketing – to be number one on Google. If the hype that surrounds Article Spinning is anything to go by, this trick might actually work.

How do you judge such a thing? By listening to the arguments of those both pro and anti article spinning one would simply reach a stalemate. Both sides put forward convincing arguments that wholly contradict each others points of view. The arguments are logical and appear to be based on a good understanding of how search engines work, yet both reach completely different conclusions. Perhaps the best solution would to be to ask Google, after all, who is there more qualified to answer such a question.

However, Google are unlikely to turn round and tell anyone the best tactic to achieve top rankings. If they did everyone would be exploiting it to the fullest it and eventually the tactic would quickly become ineffective. So rather than ask, it comes down to testing; a technique that every Search Engine Optimizer with any experience will be familiar with.

Peter Hoggan, a SEO from Scotland, and Terry Glass, an affiliate marketer from Australia, are setting out to test just how effective article spinning really is. Peter and Terry are attempting to outrank each other for the term ‘Article Spinning’, Peter will use article marketing techniques without spinning and Terry will use article marketing techniques including spinning. The winner will be whoever achieves the greatest number of Google first page rankings by 31st of May 2010. Results will be declared in the forums at www.hubpages.com.
