The Austin Humane Society is the largest no-kill, non-profit pet adoption center in Austin. Thanks to a local eatery, the worries are lessened and thanks to local volunteers and sponsors, funding for the non-profit business will be in the form of a raffle, food, drinks and entertainment for you and your dog. Your attendance to this event will not only change pets' lives, but save them too.
The Hub, a classic all-American hot spot for exceptional burgers, hot dogs, wings, milk shakes and a dog-friendly patio, is proud to host Yappy Hour, benefiting the Austin Humane Society, a community resource that promotes compassion toward animals. They are dedicated to saving Austin's homeless cats and dogs, educating the community about responsible pet ownership, and reducing pet over-population.
Organized by The Hub, saving animals is something this local business entrepreneur is compassionate about. Sponsored by Flying Dog Brewery, Ben E. Keith, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Raffle prizes courtesy of Austin Pets Directory, It's Pawsitively Irresistible, Lucky Dog Grooming, Northwest Veterinary Hospital, LittleDogma.com, Patty Mora Photography, and Stories of Multiple Pets.
Lisa Starr, from the Austin Humane Society, quotes, "We rely on the support of individuals and businesses in the community and are so grateful for the Hub's support and generosity."
During the event, Marilyn Nichols will demonstrate how coaching dogs and teaching people is her specialty. Circus Chickendog, as seen on David Letterman, will perform a dog dance and trick show, juggling act and more.
Yappy Hour is scheduled for Monday, April 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There is a $5 donation at the door, all proceeds benefiting The Austin Humane Society.
All well-behaved pooches on leashes welcome. Due to liability insurance, there is a restricted breed policy, which you can find on The Hub's website at www.thehubaustin.com
