March 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The Global Market Series-Import Certification, an award winning seven part series presented by industry experts and certified by the Institute for Supply Management, Dallas, will be available by webinar/seminar for the first time and will feature Marian Ladner, of Ladner & Assoc, PC who will be addressing Hot Topics in Regulatory Compliance on March 25th.

Marian Ladner is the Managing Partner of the law firm of Ladner & Associates PC. She primarily centers her practice on Regulatory Compliance with import, export and FCPA requirements.

Ms. Ladner started her career with the U.S. Customs Service as a Senior Attorney in Value at their Washington Headquarters and in the Port of Savannah, Georgia. Earlier in her career, Ms. Ladner served as Corporate International Director-Imports and Customs Brokerage for a major international logistics provider, and also Chaired/directed the Customs & Trade Compliance practice as part of the International Trade Department of an international law firm as well as a 400 member law firm.

In 2002, Ms. Ladner was appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury, Paul O'Neill, to serve on the Treasury Department's Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of the Customs Service (COAC) and served until 2007. Ms. Ladner also served as the General Counsel of OWIT from 2005-2008. She also founded its OWIT-Houston Chapter. In 2009, the International Compliance Professionals Association ("ICPA") elected Ms. Ladner to serve as General Counsel for its upcoming board.

The Import seminar series welcomes other leading industry experts on related topics including: how to establish a decision making process to compare outsourcing options; how to determine landed costs; the key components and best practices in international supply chain management; how the use of an FTZ might work for your company or product; the role of a customs broker and freight forwarder; the most common international payment mechanisms; the legal agreements and forms used in an import purchase transaction and become familiar with  C-TPAT and other current compliance topics.

The complete Import Session Series dates are March 11, 18 and 25, 2010.
