Phoenix Rock Outfit Razer Announce “big Rig Giveaway” Contest Winners; Nyc Date W/ Fozzy

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA – (LSI) – March 8, 2010 –Phoenix-based rockers RAZER have announced the winners to their “Big Rig Giveaway” contest, sponsored by Krank Amplification and Gibson / Epiphone Guitars.  Beginning on January 4th and extending through February 28th, contestants entered for a chance to win one of three prize packages.  1st prize winner, David Cueller will receive a brand new Epiphone Les Paul Standard Guitar alongside the impressive Krank Rev SST Head Amp w/ 4x12 Cab.  The 2nd prize winner, Derek Campbell will take home a Krank Distortus Maximus guitar pedal, band t-shirt, and a signed copy of their debut cd, Dark Devotion.  3rd prize winner Jim Alexander will receive a 10-pack of D’Addario strings, a RAZER t-shirt, and signed cd.  As a bonus to these top prize packages, the band will also give away a signed copy of Dark Devotion to 50 random entrants.

In addition to their scheduled March 26th Club Red performance in Tempe, AZ during pro wrestling’s biggest weekend, RAZER has added a NYC show at the world famous B.B. King’s in Times Square on April 28th.  They will be playing alongside fellow rockers FOZZY- featuring Chris Jericho of WWE fame and Rich Ward of Stuck Mojo.

Razer, working alongside 116 Productions producers Chuck Alkazian and Matt Novesky, has recently released their latest full-length effort “Dark Devotion”.  Bassist Chris Catero, guitarist Paul Sullivan and drummer Eric Bongiorno – formerly of Metal Blade Records artist Wardog - solidified Razer with the addition of guitarist Jeromy Graves and the commanding vocals of frontman Chris Powers. Their songs are a combination of muscular and heavy riffs, tight arrangements, evolved musical playing and true pop sensibilities, making for a unique blend that appeals to both the average radio listener and the most avid pit mosher.  

The band’s heavy sound, a combination of exceptionally strong songwriting and Power’s powerhouse vocals, has garnered attention nationwide, resulting in Powers being selected by “Guitar Hero” video game song producer Steve Ouimette to sing on the ending track “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” on “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock”.  Their single “Superpaun” was featured in Disc Maker’s instructional DVD “Achieving Success with Your Music: Hard-Hitting Tips on Marketing, A&R, Record Labels and Increasing the Income You Make with Music”. Razer has also been featured in Guitar World Magazine’s “Introducing” column as well as being the unsigned artist of the month in Japan’s prestigious Burrn! Magazine.  

Bassist Chris Catero also serves as touring bassist for legendary guitar god Marty Friedman of Megadeth fame as well as being the head of artist relations and domestic sales for international guitar amp manufacturer Krank Amplification, touting such acts as Metallica, Fall Out Boy, Toby Keith, Yellowcard, Queensryche, and others as endorsers/users.
