Schools around the country are quickly signing up to test an innovative new online game developed by inDepthLearning, an Ann Arbor company, for grades 7-10. "To our knowledge, this is the first time that substantial reading, library search, and decision-making have been incorporated into a serious educational game that teachers say is engaging and students call 'awesome.'" said Rees Midgley, president of inDepthLearning.
More than 60 teachers from 30 states as well as Ireland, Canada and Norway have expressed interest in "Drug Scene Investigators,"
The game, developed with a grant from the National Institutes of Heath, not only educates students about drugs, but promotes science inquiry and critical thinking skills. "Drug Scene Investigators"
looking for teachers to take part. Eligible teachers receive $50 for their first participating class and $25 for each additional class.
