Most Southwest Floridians know Coconut Point shopping center as a place to eat, shop, or catch a movie.  Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida http://www.goodwillswfl.org is hoping that people grow to think of the shopping center as a place to donate, as well.  Goodwill has opened a new Attended Donation Center (ADC) at the popular outdoor mall.

Goodwill has high hopes for the partnership, and hopes the new ADC will provide nearby residents with a more convenient donation option.  “This location is important because of its close proximity to both South Fort Myers and Bonita Springs,” says Laura Alford, Goodwill’s Director of Donor Development. “Also, because Coconut Point draws visitors from all over Southwest Florida, the ADC will serve as a daily reminder of Goodwill’s mission for everyone that visits the mall.”

Goodwill also is pleased with the location, which is on the east side of the mall, in close proximity to Super Target and Muvico Coconut Point 16 cinema.  The donation center will be open daily and staffed from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The Coconut Point ADC is Goodwill’s ninth in Southwest Florida.  Other donation sites include ADCs in North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers, Naples, Port Charlotte, and Clewiston.

Goodwill accepts donations of new and gently-used clothing and household items at its ADC’s.  Proceeds earned from the resale of donated items are used to support Goodwill’s programs and services, including job training and placement services, apartment complexes for people with disabilities and for low-income seniors, the Four Wheels for Work vehicle assistance program, and a charter school for students with developmental disabilities.  Information about Goodwill's programs and services is available at the agency's website: http://www.goodwillswfl.org.

A complete list of Goodwill's Retail and Donation centers, including ADCs, is available at http://www.goodwillswfl.org/store_and_adc_locations.htm.
