Last month members of Weightism.org forum had started a drive for its members to lose weight by 10 pounds in a month. This weight loss of mere 10 pounds might sound too low to some weight loss experts but at weightism we believe that good things come in small packets. We believe that losing weight too quickly may not be the best way to reduce your weight, instead we believe in the 'Slow and Steady' approach. This gives our body enough time to adapt with the changes in a person's body.
Last month 7 members of at http://www.weightism.org lost a total of 71 pounds, averaging 10 pounds average weight loss per person. The total percentage weight loss was 3-5% per member. During this drive, all members were advised to eat healthy, cut calories in a healthy way and exercise.
Currently weightism.org has about 500 articles and posts on its weight loss forum. The community is still small but rapidly expanding. Considering the fact that this forum was started just 2 months back, this is a significant growth. Since forums can contain some amount of misinformation and unwanted spam, all members and readers are adviced to consult their doctor before following any advice.
Weightism term refers to the discrimination and prejudice faced by obese people. It not only happens to the people who are overweight but even to the underweight individuals. This forum is intended to help people lose weight and share their problems with others. Even though there are no weight loss experts on the forum, there is a fair amount of active members who like to share their opinion with others.
We anticipate to do many more weight loss initiatives in future.
