Mellady Direct Honored by American Advertising Federation for Innovative Marketing Campaigns

Direct Marketing Company wins ADDY Award 3 years in a row

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Mellady Direct Marketing earned an Award of Distinction and an Award of Excellence in the prestigious ADDY® Awards Competition sponsored by the North Los Angeles chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
The firm entered a broad spectrum of print and digital marketing pieces used in campaigns on behalf of The Signal newspaper and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Foundation.
“This is the third consecutive year we have received ADDY® awards for our work and we are honored to be recognized among the best in our industry,” said Jill Mellady, President of Mellady Direct Marketing.  “Credit for our success really belongs to our clients, who give us the freedom to create the best work possible.”
The Signal engaged Mellady Direct to create an attention-getting campaign that announced the launch of the paper’s new online e-edition.  Using direct mail, email, billboards, and colorful print ads, Mellady Direct built awareness of the new product that led to a flurry of new subscriptions beyond the paper’s traditional audience.
For the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Foundation, Mellady Direct again used a variety of tactics to reach its audience, but the situation presented unique challenges.  The Foundation grew out of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Booster Club, which had supported the station for 25 years.  It was a small organization with limited visibility in the community.  That changed with the help of Mellady Direct.
Using direct mail, print advertising, email, and a new website, the firm completely rebranded the organization, developed a deep pool of new donors, and achieved the Foundation’s fundraising targets in the first year of its new fundraising effort.
Mellady’s Creative Director Jeff Courtney served as project designer for The Signal and Sheriff’s Foundation campaigns, and Eric Harnish of Harnish Communications provided copywriting services.
Mellady’s ADDY awards were announced Sunday at the Odyssey Restaurant during a gala dinner hosted by AAF Los Angeles North.  Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, the ADDY® Awards are the world’s largest advertising competition.  The contest offers three rounds of judging at the chapter, regional, and national levels.  AAF Los Angeles North is the local AAF chapter serving the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys, as well as the San Fernando Valley.
Mellady Direct Marketing is a full-service mailing and marketing services firm based in Santa Clarita that serves a nationwide roster of clients.
