Cordova, TN Ten years ago, Xavier Moore started a side business to pursue his passion – creating video games. Enigma Games, Inc. expanded over the years with a growing selection of mobile games. The breakthrough, however, came when Moore was laid off from his full-time job and decided to run his company full time.
The recession that cost Moore his job may have also provided the opportunity for his business to grow. "With the economy the way was, people were looking for things to do at home, like more movies and more video games," said Moore.
To take advantage of the increased interest in video games, and in the popularity of the social networks, Enigma Games' top selling mobile game, Wargods, was expanded to a much larger scale. Wargods Online (wargods-online.com)
Enigma Games offers mobile games and entertainment apps available for download to BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, PC and Mac. The company recently signed an agreement with Verizon Vcast application store, providing another distribution channel for customers to download their games and apps.
Moving into their second decade, Enigma Games is not resting on the accomplishments of the past 10 years. Several new games are in the development stage including Theta Warriors, an online Sci-Fi RPG that was recently submitted to the MySpace Developers Challenge.
